California Association of DECA
Developing Future Leaders in Marketing, Management, and Entrepreneurship

Welcome!

California DECA is a student organization whose program of leadership and personal development is designed specifically for students interested in marketing, management, and entrepreneurship.

From the Executive Director:

Goodbye California DECA...

Saying goodbye is very hard as California DECA has been a part of my life for the last thirty years.  I started my DECA career while in College at Western Michigan University, then a DECA advisor at Mission Bay High School in San Diego.  Once I relocated at Cal Poly Pomona, I became a collegiate advisor, until taking over as state advisor fourteen years ago.  Needless to say DECA has been a big part of my life.

California DECA, how can I every express my love and admiration.   To every  chapter member, state officer, alumni and advisor, thanks for all your help, support and friendship.  You truly have made California DECA the very best, and it has been my pleasure to serve you.

In years past DECA was represented as a wrapped package in the center of the diamond.  We now have a new emblem, but to me DECA will always be a wrapped package—a gift.  Each one of you has this gift, and it comes with a responsibility.  The responsibility is to unwrap this gift and use your DECA skills to help you follow your dream.  Please share this gift with others as well.   I wish you success in your future careers.

I believe in the future which I am planning for myself in the field of marketing and management, and in the opportunities which my vocation offers.

I believe in fulfilling the highest measure of service to my vocation, my fellow beings, my country and my God--that by so doing, I will be rewarded with personal satisfaction and material wealth.

I believe in the democratic philosophies of private enterprise and competition, and in the freedoms of this nation - that these philosophies allow for the fullest development of my individual abilities.

I believe that by doing my best to live according to these high principles, I will be of greater service both to myself and to mankind.
